Bewick’s Wren Dust Bath

Bewick’s wrens take dust baths, often at dusk to remove oil from their feathers and potentially control parasites. This bird also picks up a small pebble in its beak at one point during dusting. These stones are called gastroliths and they are stored in the gizzard where they help to grind up food.
