Snowy Egret Stalking Fish

Yesterday morning I spent fifteen minutes quietly watching a snowy egret stalk fish. As the bird turned around and around, using its feet to forage for breakfast, it created circular ripples on the surface of the glassy water. But once the prey was in sight the calm "stalking phase" would end and there would be a flurry of activity.
