Red Clintonia

I came across this Red Clintonia plant while exploring an old growth redwood grove. The bright magenta blooms stood out against the dark greens and browns of the shady forest floor. This plant is found only in foggy coastal forests from Northern California to Oregon. In the fall it will be covered with bright blue berries.
